Who We Are
The Trails & Rails program is a partnership between Amtrak and the National Park Service to provide visitor services on the Amtrak Northeast Regional train between Union Station in Washington, DC and Moynihan Station in New York City.
What We Do
Volunteers represent and help connect visitors to the National Park Service resources along the route, while informing passengers' visits before they arrive to Washington, DC. Volunteers are supplied with brochures and maps to help passengers feel prepared for their visit in advance of arriving in the city. Trails & Rails volunteers share information with passengers over the train's PA system, greet passengers in the lounge car, and rove throughout the train.
